National Memorial Service for Christchurch
To commemorate the 50 people who lost their lives in the Christchurch terrorist attack, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced a National Memorial Day.
Simultaneous memorial services will take place from 10am to 11am on Friday, 29 March 2019.
Timaru District Council is taking part in this by holding a public screening of the hour long live broadcast of the main memorial event in Christchurch. This is happening at Sopheze on the Bay (Caroline Bay Tearooms) on Friday from 10am. Everyone is welcome.
