The Grief Centre – A Place of Hope
In this time of great National sadness, the Grief Centre is offering support and hope…
Many New Zealanders have experienced this attack on the Muslim community as a horrendous assault on us collectively. Some may also be deeply affected by the disturbing images we’ve been exposed to, or by stories of events and suffering.
Others of us may experience distressing memories and feelings that arise from past traumas or losses.
Grief is highly individual and each person's response to a death or a traumatic event is unique. Coming together to express our sorrow and communicate our caring and love for the Muslim community can provide comfort and connection at this time of devastation. Supporting others can also help - fulfilling the desire to do something positive and contribute in some way.
We recommend talking with others and seeking help if your grief is severe or prolonged. The Grief Centre offers transformative support for those experiencing any form of loss or grief and has both Regional and National support services. Phone 0800 331 333 or email info@griefcentre.org.nz
