Consultation open on Prostitution Bylaw

Feedback is now open on Hamilton’s Prostitution Bylaw.

The bylaw was last reviewed in 2009 and is required to be reviewed every 10 years. At its meeting on 14 March, Hamilton City Council decided the current bylaw is the most appropriate means of controlling prostitution services in the city and approved public consultation.

The bylaw and feedback form is available at Hamilton.govt.nz/haveyoursay and in Hamilton City Libraries and the Council’s Municipal Building. Feedback is open until 18 April 2019. If there are verbal submissions from individuals or representatives of organisations they will be heard by the Council’s Regulatory and Hearings Committee on 4 June 2019.

There are four other consultations underway; seeking views on how welcoming and inclusive our city is, development of Rototuna, a new fenced dog area, and the Quentin Dr Special Housing Area.
