Pasifika Celebration Day

Pasifika cultures will be on show at the annual Pasifika Celebration Day on Saturday 9 March at the Levin Adventure Park. The programme kicks off at 3pm and includes Samoan, Tonga, Kiribati, Tuvalu and Cook Island cultural groups. It is going to be a full on event with the sights, sounds and tastes of the islands in Levin.

There will be Pacific Island and European food stalls, and arts and crafts on sale. The event will also include promotional booths from local NGS and Central Government.

Organised by Fale Pasifika Horowhenua, Chairperson Aleni Feagaiga said the aim of the day is to bring our Pasifika community together to celebrate our many diverse cultures and what it means to be a Pacific Islander. For the wider community the aim is for people to come along and join in the festive atmosphere and appreciate our song, dance and culture.

Guest Performer Wayno will be performing at 5pm and Arasi Band from Wellington will be on stage just after 6:00pm. There will also be a few more surprises on the day.
