Early look at Community Profiles information

28 February 2019

Snapshots of the information obtained through Hamilton City Council’s Community Profiles Survey are now available.

In 2018, the Community Profile Survey was undertaken by the Council’s Community Development Unit. The survey, and the resulting profiles, are done in line with the national census.

Community Development staff have begun compiling the information obtained, with more to be added once the 2018 Census information is available from Statistics New Zealand – expected to be later this year.

Three Community Profile Snapshots have been produced to make interim summary information available on Hamilton as a whole, and the eastern and western sides of the city.

The Snapshots are in PDF form, and can be downloaded from this page on the Council’s website. They give basic comparative data on topics including respondents’ standard of living, levels of physical activity and recreation, social interactions and employment, among a range of wider topics.

The complete suite of full Community Profiles – 15 in total – will be available once Stats NZ releases the local census results.
