SH2 between Katikati and Tauranga closed

The NZ Transport Agency advises that State Highway 2 Tahawai between Katikati and Tauranga is closed due to a serious crash near Sharp Road.
We ask motorists to avoid the area or delay travel.
The northbound detour route is SH29, SH24, SH27 and SH26 to Paeroa and back onto SH2, the southbound detour is in reverse. Please allow extra time for your journey.
