Phone app to report issues to Council launched

People can now quickly report issues to Palmerston North City Council through the mobile phone app – Snap Send Solve. The app, locally launched today, makes it easier for people to report Council-related incidents such as cracked pavements, dumped rubbish or a water fault.

“Council is focussed on delivering customer-centric service and the Snap Send Solve app makes it easier for people to send us photos of issues they want to report to us,” says Chris Dyhrberg, Chief Customer and Operating Officer.

“We encourage people to use the app and report issues, so we can respond quickly. The whole community benefits, if we get told about issues quickly.”

The Snap Send Solve is free to download to a smartphone or internet-capable tablet device, via the App Store or Google Play. Users create a profile and store their name and contact details, and location services on the device help identify on a map where the issue is. The report is automatically sent to Council to respond. The whole process should take less than 30 seconds.

Types of incidents encouraged to be reported are:
• Parking
• Pavement issues
• Damaged roads/potholes
• Graffiti
• Dumped rubbish/flytipping
• Broken playground equipment
• Animals
• Noise etc
