Race to the Brewery set for record year
The clock is ticking down on Manawatu’s hugely
popular Race to the Brewery relay with registrations closing
on the 18th February 2019.
Last year the race raised $37,000, the majority of which went to support Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
Property Brokers’ Manawatu and Wairarapa Regional Director, Paul Roache, says last year part of the money raised was used to sponsor nine talented athletes from our region to help them attend national and international competitions.
“We’ll continue supporting young athletes with scholarships again this year as the caliber of those who entered in 2018 was simply outstanding. But our main focus remains raising money for the Cancer Society’s Relay for Life,” said Paul Roache.
He said this is the 9th relay to take place and, so far 30 teams have registered for the event which takes place on 23rd February.
“But there’s always room for more teams. You never know, you might end up winning the Good Bugger Award!”
Norwood General Manager Sales and Marketing, Craig Pattison, says “the Race To The Brewery is a fantastic event that we love getting behind each year. Supporting the communities in which we operate has always been a priority for Norwood and this event is another opportunity for us to get involved.
It’s really quite special standing at the start line with other like-minded people and organisations, knowing that together we can make a positive contribution. The event also has the added bonus of being a great team building exercise as well! We’re looking forward to supporting RTTB for many years to come,” said Mr Pattison.
The relay starts from Property Brokers Head Office at 240 Broadway Palmerston North ending with a very welcome “cheers” at the Tui Brewery, with a cold glass of Mangatainoka’s finest East India Pale Ale.
