Surf Life Saving Northern Region (Raglan incident)

Summary
At 3:36pm, Surfcom were alerted by the Ambulance Service to a missing child who was swept out to sea off Ocean Beach, near the Raglan Rivermouth.
Lifeguards were tasked and launched an IRB, arriving on scene within 10 minutes to begin search.
The Raglan Surf Callout Squad was also tasked and a second IRB launched to help with the search around 4:30pm.
The patient was located at 4:59pm by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and was brought to shore by Coastguard. Surf lifeguards assisted with CPR.
Outcome/Result
Attempts to resuscitate were unsuccessful.
