"Stokes Valley Incident "

At about 11.56pm Saturday 8th December 2018 Lower Hutt Police were advised of a male having been shot in Stokes Valley.

On Police arriving a male was found to have non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Hospital by ambulance.

A short time later Police received a barrage of calls of further shots being fired in Stokes Valley, but Police in the area were able to believe the ’shots’ were in fact fireworks being let off.

Police are maintaining a strong presence in the Stokes Valley area and advise this incident is Gang related.

Police are asking witnesses who saw anything in regards to the incident to contact the Lower Hutt Police.

Enquiries into this matter are continuing.

There will be no further Police release until 0900hrs on Sunday 9th February 2018. ENDS
