Congratulations to the Wellingtonians Changing Our City
The Wellington Chamber of Commerce extends a warm congratulations to all winners and finalists of last night's 2018 Welly Awards.
"The Welly Awards celebrate the individuals making real change in our city. I wish to especially congratulate overall Wellingtonian of the Year winner Steph Dyhrberg for her passionate work on improving organisational cultures and helping prevent sexual harassment," says Chief Executive John Milford.
"All the 2018 winners and finalists demonstrate the inspiring innovation and leadership coming out of our capital city.
"The awards recognise industry leaders from world-leading scientist Chris Sutton to academic pioneer Rawinia Higgins to Hurricanes and All Blacks hero TJ Perenara.
"Wellington's distinguished film industry is in good hands with the young actor Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie recognised with a win in the Youth category for her performance in 'Leave No Trace'.
"Flight Plastics' Derek Lander's win in the Business category is testament to the environmental benefits the company is generating with their recycling technology.
"I wish all winners and finalists well as they continue their work and inspire the next round of finalists for next year."
