Firearms incident in Masterton - witnesses required

Two local people have been arrested after a firearms incident in Masterton at about 9pm yesterday (Sunday 2 December).
Police are seeking witnesses to the shooting which happened on Dixon Street, near Norris Way last night.
A woman received serious wounds to her leg after the shooting and is in hospital recovering from surgery.
The firearm has been located, but more people who witnessed the event are being sought by Police.
A man aged 30 and a woman aged 29 have been arrested in relation to the shooting and will appear in the Masterton District Court today.
Police are appealing for more witnesses to come forward and believe the people involved were known to each other.
Anyone who heard or saw anything last night around 9pm are encouraged to come forward with any information that may help locate others involved.
