The Kauri Rescue Project Team is hosting a community meeting in Titirangi War Memorial Hall on 4 December at 7pm to
report back on their achievements for kauri protection over the last 2 years.
Everyone is welcome to attend the event where the Kauri Rescue team of scientists, social scientists and community
coordinators / facilitators will feed back to the Waitākere community in small presentations, interim results and
outcomes from this citizen science project that has enabled the community to positively contribute to kauri dieback
management.
The feedback will include:
How many people have engaged and how many trees have been treated.
The results so far...
How this project has provided a model for community engagement in biosecurity
And... importantly where we will go to from here.
Project Leader Dr Ian Horner says “the Kauri Rescue project team looks forward to sharing the successes and the
learnings of this important citizen science project with the community of the Waitākeres, who have been an integral part
of making this project a success.”
Anyone is welcome to attend.
