Update on Mazengarb Road and Guildford Drive maintenance
Work to sort out the failing tar seal on Mazengarb Road and Guilford Drive continues, with further maintenance works underway today and tomorrow.
“Our Contractor has now spread stone chip onto areas of Mazengarb Road and Guildford Drive where the tar seal has been exposed, and they’ll be sweeping the road to remove excess chip today and tomorrow,” says Kapiti Coast District Council Infrastructure Services Group Manager, Sean Mallon.
“They’ll also be re-surfacing the Mazengarb Road/Realm Drive intersection with asphalt today, and will lay asphalt at the intersection of Mazengarb Road and Ratanui Road tomorrow.”
“We know this is not ideal situation and thank everyone for their continued patience over the last week. We’ll be undertaking an assessment of the Mazengarb Road and Guildford Drive road surfaces shortly to determine whether any other maintenance works are required,” Mr Mallon said.
“In the meantime, we are encouraging people to take extra care when driving on these roads. Speed restrictions and traffic management are in place.”
