Police are continuing to appeal for sightings of missing Waitakere woman Michelle Simpson, who has not been seen for
more than 24 hours.
As the search moves into a second evening, Police's concerns are growing for the safety of Michelle, who was last seen
walking along Wairere Road (between Caton and Gregory Road) around 11.30am yesterday morning.
Michelle is 50-years-old, approximately 5 foot tall with short brown hair and is likely to be confused and
disorientated.
Inspector Bruce O’Brien says Police have undertaken a wide ground search of the area, which includes dense bush, as well
as an aerial search but unfortunately we have been unable to locate Michelle.
“We are urging residents in the neighbourhood to please ensure they check their sheds, backyards or any area where
someone may seek shelter.
“We also ask residents in the vicinity of Wairere Road, Caton Road, Gregory Road or Duffy Road to check their security
camera footage or dash cam footage if they were driving in the area between 11am – 2pm yesterday.
“We urgently want to hear from anyone who has seen a person matching Michelle’s description. Anyone with information is
asked to contact Police by phoning 111,” says Inspector O'Brien.
