"Palmerston North Police make arrest in aggravated robbery"
Palmerston North Police have arrested and charged a 20-year-old man after the aggravated robbery of a takeaway shop tonight.
At 7.20pm Police received a call from a shop in Kelvin Grove advising that a man armed with a rifle had robbed them.
The caller provided a description of the car the offender drove off in.
Police on their way to the shop saw a vehicle fitting the description and stopped it a short time later.
The driver was arrested without incident and a firearm and cash were recovered.
He will appear in Palmerston North District Court tomorrow.
