Traffic control for opening of new Mansfield Garden

8 November 2018

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hamilton Gardens will be under traffic control on Monday, 12 November when the Gardens’ latest addition to its Fantasy Collection opens. Additionally, traffic control will be in place the following weekend (17 and 18 November).

The Mansfield Garden will open to the public at 4pm.

With a large crowd expected to attend the opening and following weekend, people are recommended to use Gate 2 where additional parking will be available.

If the car park reaches capacity people bringing vehicles should adhere to the Council’s Park Smarter messaging and avoid blocking nearby driveways, parking on yellow lines or on grass verges. This ensures neighbourhood residents will have access to and from their homes.

To limit traffic congestion, people planning to attend the event are urged to:

• Walk or cycle through the Cobham Drive underpass from Sillary Street in Hamilton East.

• Cycle to the Gardens and use the new bike rack near the playground.

• Carpool with friends and family.

Visitors to the new garden are asked to show courtesy, patience and understanding throughout the day.
