Part of Cook St to be closed for tree pruning on 14 November

7 November 2018

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hamilton City Council will be getting on with further work helping to keep people and power supplies safe next week.

Some pruning of our street trees is due to be carried out on Cook St between Grey and Firth streets in Hamilton East on Wednesday 14 November.

The Council will close the Grey St entrance to the one-way section of Cook St from 9am to 3pm.

Council arborists will concentrate on pruning the overhanging branches on Steele Park trees on the park’s northern side to stop them interfering with powerlines and dropping on the road.

There will be safe pedestrian access options through the area.

Letters are going to residents this week outlining what’s happening and letting them know they will have controlled vehicle exit and entry from their properties if needed.

Residents are encouraged to not park on the street in the area if they don’t plan to come back before the closure time. However, staff will facilitate safe access to parked vehicles if necessary.
