Make the most of Christchurch's Spring calendar

It may be a bit chilly at the moment, but don’t let that stop you getting out and about exploring all that Christchurch’s epic Spring calendar has to offer.
October 30 marks the start of Season 2018 of SCAPE, marking 20 years since SCAPE Public Art has been revolutionising the open spaces ofŌtautahi Christchurch, boldly bringing art outside of gallery walls and into our vibrant city centre.
So grab a hot coffee and check out the Arts Centre of Christchurch, Te Matatiki Toi Ora to celebrate the SCAPE Public Art 20th Anniversary and be prepared to expand your mind with this array of exciting public art.
The event runs from Tuesday 30 October – Saturday 17 November and admission is free, so get along to check out the 216 temporary artworks and 14 legacy (permanent) artworks contributed to Christchurch and enjoy exploring our central city through the lens of some mind-blowing modern art.
There’s less than two weeks to go until the stand out week of Christchurch’s Spring calendar with New Zealand Cup & Show Week just around the corner! Get ready to experience a range of top-class events and entertainment at the New Zealand Agricultural Show, Addington Raceway and Riccarton Park from November 10 – 17, check out the various events and enjoy the experience.
This eagerly anticipated annual event is a celebration of all things racing, fashion, family fun, agricultural innovation and the best of our region’s food and beverage offerings and our city centre welcomes you start and finish the biggest days of Christchurch’s social calendar with us. Check out the awesome deals on offer, from champagne breakfasts on The Terrace to free transport to the after parties.
And what better way to get the family together to celebrate Canterbury Anniversary Day on November 16 than to make a day of it in our vibrant city centre and explore all our amazing CBD has to offer. Watch this space as we’ll be sharing our top tips for Canterbury Anniversary Day very soon!
