Coven is back and revamped!
Wellington’s premiere party for women and gender minorities is back at Ivy Bar on Saturday November 3rd 8pm with special musical guest Arcee Rapper.
Gather around the cauldron, witches, because COVEN is back!
With two spellbinding events under their belt, Coven is back and more magical than ever. Providing a unique alternative within wellington’s queer scene, the Coven crew have created a safe environment for women and gender minorities to throw down their cloaks and enjoy an evening of magical comradery and first-class entertainment.
This months event features local talent Arcee. Arcee Rapper began rapping when all good rappers do. At birth. A little later (2015) she dropped her first major album ‘The Arcee LP’. Her hit single from the album ‘Go Hard’ song has had 20,000 hits and counting, on youtube and she has toured with Six60, Scribe and Ladi6 earlier this year.
Hosted by Wellington’s iconic gay venue Ivy Bar, this event strives to welcome all who may usually feel out of place. Conjured up for women and gender minorities, they kindly ask that perhaps you consider not attending if this does not describe you. Let’s keep this night a safe, inviting community event for those who need it.
The powerhouse team behind Coven are Hugo Grrrl and Gingerella, alongside original creators Tasmin Prichard and Rose Kynoch and together this menagerie of queer beings will bring you a night to remember. Dedicated to the ethos of such an event, Coven will be reincarnated every two months throughout the foreseeable future, with 5 dates scheduled throughout 2019.
To further enhance this magical experience the Ivy bar crew have conjured up a special potions menu to whet your appetite and arouse your senses. A ‘Cloak Check’ will also be available to keep your robes, brooms and paraphernalia safe throughout for just $2.
Tickets available for a lucky $13 on Eventfinda or $15 on the door. Feast your eyes on the facebook event for more details.
… something wicked this way comes.
Coven is on November 3rd 8pm, at Ivy Bar. Please check out the facebook event for more details. Check out Hugo Grrrl’s page for more upcoming events
