Thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes up for grabs with ASB at Diwali
ASB is inviting New Zealanders to hunt, snap and win at this year’s Auckland Diwali festival with thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes up for grabs, including a corporate box at Eden Park for a summer event.
Diwali, the Indian festival of lights, is celebrated annually and recognises prosperity and the start of the financial year in India.
While heading along to celebrate the best of Auckland’s vibrant Indian culture, those enjoying the festival can also hunt for ASB posters around Aotea Square and snap photos of them for instant prizes and to go in the drawer to win a corporate box for 20 people at Eden Park to watch the cricket, a Blues rugby game or Nitro Circus.
Other prizes include tickets to the ASB Classic, ASB G9 golf event, and blue tooth speakers among others.
ASB head of community and sponsorship Mark Graham says the bank is proud to be sponsoring Diwali for the fourth year.
“At ASB we believe embracing diversity is a must. It’s at the heart of what New Zealand and ASB is all about.
We know that Diwali is an important day for a lot of our ASB customers and staff so we’re thrilled to be involved in the festival again, bringing the bright lights, vibrant colours and exquisite cuisines of India to the wider Auckland community,” Graham says.
Another highlight this Diwali festival will be ASB staff, friends and family performing Bollywood dances in traditional Indian attire at the event across the two days.
It’s the third year in a row the group is taking to the stage, and the team of more than 30 have been practicing for three months with the help of choreographer Kesha Surti.
Performances will be held on the main stage in Aotea Square and Queen Street on Saturday and Sunday evening.
“We’re excited to see so many of our staff getting out and joining in with this event. The team has put a huge number of hours into preparing for this weekend’s celebrations and we can’t wait to see how it all comes together for the final performance, and for what we’re sure will be another truly spectacular Diwali festival, ” Graham says.
