Matakana School can provide children who learn by movement the ability to do so with help from Harcourts Tandem Realty North and a donation through the Harcourts Foundation.
The donation to Matakana School will go towards the purchase of 20 ‘wiggle’ chairs to be used by children of all ages.
Principal of Matakana School Darrel Goosen said, ‘These chairs will be used by children whose learning is enabled when they make small movements. The need or use of these chairs is not connected to behavioural issues or to any learning difficulties, they simply facilitate learning in a different way.
Director and Branch Manager of Harcourts Tandem Realty North in Warkworth and Snells Beach Amy Wagstaff said, ‘Matakana school is close to my heart. My kids go to this school and so it’s like giving back to my own community directly. Business Owner Nick Langdon and I are really invested in ‘giving back’ where we possibly can.
Mr Goosen added, ‘this donation is particularly valuable to us as we cannot get funding for these particular chairs. We are thrilled to have been able to work with Amy, Nick and their team at Harcourts to make this possible’.
