31 August 2018
The Sky Tower will be one of many iconic New Zealand landmarks to glow blue for Blue September, the Prostate Cancer Foundation’s national awareness campaign.
This Saturday and Sunday, from top to bottom, the Sky Tower will be lit blue. Many buildings around the country will follow suit and shine blue, including the Harbour Bridge and Town Hall in Auckland, Victoria Bridge in Hamilton, the Clock Tower and Museum in Rotorua, and Christchurch Airport and Tower.
The Sky Tower is New Zealand’s tallest man-made structure and the Southern Hemisphere’s tallest free-standing structure. Based in the heart of Auckland, the Sky Tower is one of New Zealand’s most recognisable landmarks.
SKYCITY lights the Sky Tower for charities or community initiatives that we support financially, to mark national holidays, milestones or other celebrations or events, or as a symbol of respect or solidarity.
