Sky Tower lights as New Zealand’s largest daffodil

Published: Wed 29 Aug 2018 04:36 PM
The Sky Tower will light to become New Zealand’s largest daffodil to show its support for the Cancer Society’s Daffodil Day on 31 August.
On 30 and 31 August, the base of the Sky Tower will be lit as a green stem while the top will light as a bright yellow daffodil flower. This is the first time the Sky Tower has lit for Daffodil Day.
The Sky Tower is New Zealand’s tallest man-made structure and the Southern Hemisphere’s tallest free-standing structure. Based in the heart of Auckland, the Sky Tower is one of New Zealand’s most recognisable landmarks.
SKYCITY lights the Sky Tower for charities or community initiatives that we support financially, to mark national holidays, milestones or other celebrations or events, or as a symbol of respect or solidarity.
