Otaraua Park Development Plan consultation closes

More than 400 community residents have had their say on the Kāpiti Coast District Council’s long-term draft development plan for Otaraua Park, following a four week consultation period that closed last Thursday.

Parks and Recreation Manager Alison Law says Council was pleased with the community response to the draft plan.

“The submission number tells us that the Kāpiti Coast is interested and tuned into what direction the development of their parks take in future years. It seems understood that a long-term plan is needed now to ensure future options are not compromised by early development.

“We’ll now review and collate community feedback to ensure the development plan reflects our community’s vision. If there are no significant changes required, we’ll submit the plan to Council for adoption by the end of this year.”
