City Library hosting a Clubs Day event for over 60's
The City Library is hosting an event this week (Thursday 26 July 2 – 4pm) catering for those aged over 60. The objective is to provide the community with direct contact with some of the hundreds of clubs and groups in the city, and to meet new people, learn new skills and be entertained.
The event will have groups that focus on social connection and lifelong curiosity. Most participating clubs and groups are open to all ages and all are 'attractive' to 60+ year olds.
Sixty clubs and groups are participating and cover arts and crafts, hobbies, cultural, continuing education, home and garden, performing arts, technology and transport, and service.
Future clubs days are planned:
November 2018: "Outdoors, Sport & Wellness" Clubs Day for 60+
February 2019: "Volunteering opportunities for 60+"
ends
