Weather warning for Marlborough Sounds’ residents
Marlborough Roads advises there is heavy rain and strong winds forecast in some parts of Marlborough over the weekend.
There may be more slips in the Marlborough Sounds area, especially on sites already affected by slips such as the Kenepuru, Queen Charlotte Drive and Port Underwood, etc.
Contractors will endeavour to keep these roads open during daylight hours, but if the road is affected after dark then it may be closed. This will be on a case by case basis but is to ensure the safety of road workers and the public.
The road will be assessed at first light and repair works actioned.
Please stay up to date with the weather forecast and ensure you are prepared for adverse weather and potentially blocked or impassable roads.
