Take your tamariki Beyond the Page these school holidays
Beyond the Page, a literary festival for tamariki and their whānau, is back in 2018 and bigger than ever as events expand to 25 libraries across the Wellington region.
Hutt City Libraries, Upper Hutt City Libraries, Wellington City Libraries and Kāpiti Coast District Libraries are collaborating to run an exciting line-up of events to entertain, excite, and inspire the region’s tamariki and get them exploring the world of story and their cities.
Last year over 4,000 people attended events in our region’s libraries and galleries. This year tamariki can once again go on an amazing literary and creative journey during the school holidays at hundreds of events around the region.
Sir Jon Trimmer will be back with Tales from the Ballet, Wellington’s Kings and Queens will be reading hand-picked stories at Rainbow Storytimes, award-winning kiwi authors and creators (such as Sasha Cotter and Josh Morgan) will share their enthusiasm and knowledge with the next generation of storytellers, the BARK NZ brigade will be bringing their furry friends along, Geraldine Brophy will be discovering the secret life of pens, and so much more - there’s something on for all members of the whānau!
Lillian Pak from Hutt City Libraries says “We’re really excited to be working with other public libraries in the Wellington region to deliver an amazing and innovative literary festival for tamariki. It’s great to be collaborating with Kāpiti Coast District Libraries this year, allowing us to reach even more people in the Wellington region.”
Beyond the Page runs from 7-22 July.
