Youthline Wellington Annual Street Appeal – Thursday 24 May 2018 from 7am – 6pm
The Annual Street Appeal Collection is one of Youthline Wellington’s biggest events of the year. It is essential for promoting our services to young people and raising much needed funds to keep the organisation running.
This allows us to continue to provide free, confidential, non-judgemental telephone, text, email and GoChat counselling. We also provide an information/referral service to young people in the Wellington and Greater Wellington areas.
Many young people find it helpful to talk to us when they are facing highly emotional situations and feel that they are in crisis. Common issues we are contacted about are depression, anxiety, self-injury and support for friends, family and partners.
This year, Youthline Wellington will also be promoting our ‘Awhi’ Hoodies for $50 (perfect for Winter) designed by young designer, Lizzie Snow at fortyonehundred, and kindly printed by Thomas at Artisan prints.
As part of Youth Week 2018, which runs from 19 - 27 May, we have various youth and community organisations, businesses, sponsors, Wellington College, as well as Rotary helping our organisation collect on Thursday 24 May 2018.
Musicians Paul Saker-Norrish, from Yoga Rhapsody and Daisy van Wel will be adding fun to our stall on Cuba Mall throughout the day of the street appeal. Everyone should come along and support our vital service!
Youthline has been supporting New Zealand youth for over 47 years. To find out more about Youthline in Wellington, visit wellington.youthline.co.nz.
