NZ Bus drivers in Auckland have today ratified an offer put to them by the public transport operator which will provide
“absolute certainty” for Auckland commuters for the next two years.
Claire Neville, NZ Bus general manager operations, says the ratification of “a fair deal for drivers and NZ Bus” was
great news for commuters and the company.
“This means our Auckland customers can continue to rely on NZ Bus and have absolute certainty in our services wherever
they need to travel,” Neville says.
Strong and resilient employment relations are a key component for successful transport companies and Neville says NZ Bus
is a market leader for sustaining harmonious relations with its workforce.
“We’re in a good place right now and commuters and Councils can have confidence in our transport services,” she says.
“Commuters and councils want operators like NZ Bus that can deliver transport solutions and still fairly reimburse their
employees,” she says, citing the company’s success this month in securing transport contracts in the Bay of Plenty
valued at $14.8m and included drivers being paid a living wage.
