A new resource consent application to develop the infrastructure to host America’s Cup 36 has been lodged today.
Panuku Development Auckland has lodged the application following approval from the council’s Governing Body of a new
resource consent application for the Wynyard Hobson proposal.
The Wynyard Hobson proposal involves up to five bases on the eastern side of Wynyard Point, a 74 metre length extension
of Hobson Wharf to accommodate one double base extension, and use of the Viaduct Events Centre on Halsey Wharf by
Emirates Team New Zealand as their base.
The resource consent application will be available to view on the Auckland Council website on Monday 16 April and will
be publicly notified for a period of public submissions, expected to be on 30 April until 28 May 2018.
As agreed by the Governing Body, the application will remain as a direct referral to the Environment Court with a
decision expected from the Court in October 2018.
A further application for the relocation of SeaLink and the commercial fishing fleet will be made once on-going
investigations on alternative location options are completed.
