Hastings Mayor Sandra Hazlehurst delighted with newest member of the team.
Hastings Mayor Sandra Hazlehurst wishes to congratulate Eileen Lawson, following the preliminary result of the by-election for the vacant Hastings District Council Havelock North-Hastings ward seat.
Eileen Lawson has received the most votes at 3424.
The confirmed final result is expected to be received by Friday.
Mayor Sandra Hazlehurst says based on the preliminary results, Eileen Lawson will be our newest Hastings District Councillor. “I am looking forward to her starting and sharing the load with the team.”
“Congratulations to Ms Lawson for making the commitment to serve our community.
I know she will grasp the opportunity with both hands.”
Ms Hazlehurst thanks all those candidates who put themselves forward to stand in the by-election. “We are really fortunate to have people wanting to make a difference.”
The Mayor says the hard work starts now. “From the preliminary by-election results, it looks like we can embrace the skills and experience which Ms Lawson brings to the table to ensure she does the best for the Hastings District.”
