Storm damage across Auckland 7:45 update

There is damage across Auckland this morning after last night’s severe storm.

There are traffic lights, motorway signage and traffic cameras not working because of power outages and there may be surface flooding and storm debris on the roads.

Please only travel if you have to and approach uncontrolled intersections with caution and observe normal give way rules.

NZ Transport Agency advises all motorways across the Auckland network and the Auckland Harbour Bridge are open.

The following local roads are closed: Pine Ave between Parrs Cross Rd loops, Henderson; Woodside Ave, Massey; Maskell St, St Heliers; Temple St, Meadowbank and Gillies Ave, between Kohia Tce and Kimberley near Balmoral. Roads partially blocked: corner Charles Rd and Glenbrook Rd, Karaka and corner of Marne Rd and Settlement Rd, Papakura.

Train services are operating this morning but there are delays. There may be power issues at some rail stations and there are power outages across the network.

Western Line:
All Western Line services will start and terminate at Henderson. There is currently a 20 minute frequency.

Southern, Eastern & Onehunga Lines:
Services operating at a reduced frequency – 30 minute intervals due to intermittent power issues between Westfield and Papakura.

Passenger shuttles in place between Papakura and Otahuhu, Sylvia Park and Britomart, Penrose to Britomart.

Onehunga services as normal.

Pukekohe Shuttle:
Services are operating

Ferry services are operating with the exception of Northcote Point.

Bus services are operating but there may be delays because of debris on the roads.
