Karley Hunt Cook Strait swim postponed
Karley Hunt Cook Strait swim postponed
High winds and stormy seas have forced postponement of Senior Sergeant Karley Hunt’s planned Cook Strait charity swim for two weeks.
“There is no point trying to beat the elements and putting the crew and myself at risk.” she says.
Karley says the next attempt is expected to be around the neap tide in early April but no dates have been specified.
She will take time out to celebrate her birthday before getting back into serious training which will include ice baths.
“The sea temperature is dropping and I want to be fully conditioned to endure 12 hours in the water - ice baths are now on the schedule.”
On the bright side
Karley says there is more time to donate money for the
Central Blue Light charity which helps young people at
risk.via
