Waipareira chair Ray Hall has acknowledged and thanked outgoing board member Clint Rickards for his service to the west
Auckland whānau.
At last night’s Annual General Meeting at Hoani Waititi Marae, 3 board members - Ray, long-time Trustee Moyna Grace and
former top cop Rickards - were up for re-slection. Rickards – a Barrister and a Waipareira Trustee for 6 years – has
relocated out of the Waipareira area.
In his place, west Auckland Community law advocate Tom Harris was selected unopposed, alongside the reappointments of
Ray and Moyna.
“I would like to thank Clint for his mahi for Waipareira and this Board,” Ray said. “He has bought stability and
level-headedness during a real growth period for Waipareira. As a Board, we wish Clint and his wife Tanya all the best
for the future.”
Ray told the AGM Waipareira was in a great position to explore growth over the next 5-10 years. “All entities managed by
the Waipareira back office received unmodified audit opinions from KPMG,” Ray said. “In the past 12 months we also
entered into a construction contract with Housing NZ to develop social housing. “We also purchased and refitted a
building in Catherine Street, which will become a west Auckland technology hub.”
Wai Research – the research arm of Waipareira – had published a number of reports and articles over the past 18 months
that “supported our subsidiaries and associates in delivering research and obtaining ministers’ sign off for Whanau Ora
Outcome framework.”
