Allow more travel time
as slip repairs begin on State Highway 15
Slip Repair Works State Highway 15, Twin Bridges
Drivers using State
Highway 15 in Northland are advised to allow more time for
their travel as the NZ Transport Agency begins slip repair
work at Twin Bridges, between Nukutawhiti and Awarua.
The work will start on Friday 2 March and continue through to the end of May, depending on the weather, says the Transport Agency’s System Manager, Steve Mutton.
The Transport Agency recommends drivers allow an extra 10 minutes for their journey.
“The repairs are part of our on-going work to maintain Northland’s state highway, and they are necessary to ensure the safety of our customers on this steep, windy part of the network,” says Mr Mutton.
There will be manual traffic management in place, with temporary traffic signals and speed limits.
The slip repair work includes site clearing, retaining wall construction, anchor installation, rock wall construction, drainage installation and road surface construction.
“Please help us by keeping to the posted speed limits while travelling through our sites. These sites have a reduced speed limit to ensure the safety of the road crews and gives the road works time to set.“
