Ski sponsorships available now for schoolchildren
Snowplanet, the premier indoor skifield based in Auckland, is offering ski sponsorship packages, each valued at over $2000, to two lucky children of primary and intermediate school age.
Jeremy Brown, Sports Development Manager sees these packages as a great way to help out kids who would love to ski or snowboard, but who, for one reason or another, can’t afford the sport.
“They don't need to be a great skier!” he says. “All they need to show that they’ve got good co-ordination and balance and the spirit to give it their all. We’ll supply the snow, most of the gear and twenty weeks of coaching.”
Sponsorship is available to one boy and one girl who go to either a primary or intermediate school.
The package gives the children free access to the Snowplanet slopes from 1st April to 30th September 2018 and complimentary use of skis or snowboards, boots and helmets.
Each child is required to supply their own ski jacket, pants and gloves.
Two free terms attending Snowplanet’s ‘Rippers and Riders’ after-school program lets the children fine-tune their snow skills. Each term includes ten 90 minute coaching sessions that run on Mondays from 4pm to 5.30pm or on Fridays from 5pm to 6.30pm.
Applications close on Friday March 16th. Parents can nominate their child online here https://snowplanet.co.nz/junior-sponsorship/
The two winners of the Snowplanet sponsorship packages will be notified on Thursday March 29th.
