Kapiti Suicide Prevention Advocates to host Movie Premiere

Monday 12 February

Kapiti Suicide Prevention Advocates to host Movie Premiere.

Shaun and Shona McNeil, of Paraparaumu, are to host the NZ Premiere of the new movie “Suicide-The Ripple Effect” on Wednesday 14th March (Paraparaumu Events Cinema) and Thursday 15th March (Wellington Reading Cinemas 7pm).

“Suicide: The Ripple Effect” is a feature length documentary film and movement, focusing on the devastating effects of suicide and the tremendous positive ripple effects of advocacy, inspiration and hope that are helping millions heal & stay alive.

The film highlights the journey of American Kevin Hines, who at age 19, attempted to take his life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Today Kevin is a world-renowned mental health advocate, motivational speaker and author who travels the globe spreading a message of hope, recovery and wellness.

The film chronicles Kevin’s personal journey, the ripple effect it has on those who have been impacted by his suicide attempt and his life's work since. In addition, the film highlights the stories of individuals and families who are utilising their personal tragedy to bring hope and healing to others. It is a life-changing true story that you shouldn’t miss!

The McNeils say “With the numbers of people taking their own lives at an unacceptable level, we believe that this is movie has the potential to amaze, inspire and save lives, so please go online and book a ticket, as the movie is in each venue for ‘one night only’ and only goes ahead by the will of the people who may wish to support us, and this issue.”
