Night work on Wairoa Bridge

Night work on Wairoa Bridge

The NZ Transport Agency is advising road users of possible delays on State Highway 2 Wairoa Bridge while night work is completed.

Geotechnical testing is expected to be carried out through the bridge deck over four nights from Sunday 11th to Thursday 15th February at night 7pm to 5am. The work is weather permitting.

People can expect one lane to be closed on the bridge. To keep the people working on the bridge safe, a speed limit of 30kph will be in place.

The Agency says the work is being carried out at night to minimise traffic disruption, and every effort will be made to minimise delays.

The key traffic and travel source which provides up-to-date information on weather and road conditions nationwide is www.nzta.govt.nz/traffic. Important information is shared via the Transport Agency’s official Twitter and Facebook accounts: https://www.nzta.govt.nz/contact-us/connect-with-us/.

Drivers can also call 0800 4 HIGHWAYS (0800 44 44 49) to speak to the call centre team who can provide them with traffic and travel information either before they’re travelling or when they’re on the road.
