Bike to breakfast at Upper Hutt Station on Go By Bike Day

Upper Hutt City Council’s Activation Team will be serving breakfast to cyclists at Upper Hutt Station as part of Go By Bike Day.

UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 02 FEB 2018— Members of the public who cycle in Upper Hutt will be treated to a fresh breakfast as part of Go By Bike Day on Tuesday 13 February. The morning will be a great opportunity to jump on a bike and cycle to work or school. For those who don’t have a bike, there will be stationary spin bikes on hand so they can still earn their breakfast.

Positioned at the Upper Hutt Station, the Activation team will be serving those who cycle to the station a free cooked or continental breakfast along with a coffee from Cake & Kitchen. Council’s Road Safety Co-ordinator Catherine Pulford will be giving away prizes as well as providing some Road Safety Quiz questions.

“The morning will be a great opportunity to catch the cyclists and encourage their active lifestyle,” says Activation Team Leader, Ellie Davidson. “It is also a great opportunity for anyone wanting to start biking to work.”

Go By Bike Day is being celebrated in Upper Hutt as part of The Gas Hub’s Parks and Places activity programme which runs until Sunday 18 March.

“We’re looking forward to meeting some great people and offering them a quick breakfast before they head off on their way again,” says Mrs Davidson.

The event kicks off at 6.30 am on Tuesday 13 February, outside the Upper Hutt Station.
