the area are advised to evacuate their homes overnight due
to possible storm surge combined with high tide around
midnight tonight which may cause flooding.

The public are advised to keep out of the area overnight. The Police will continue to monitor the area throughout the night.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand are going door-to-door to advise residents in the area.
