Mini Festival for Kids Returns to Auckland City Limits

The Mini Festival for Kids Returns to Auckland City Limits
Auckland Kiddie Limits returns as part of the fun at Auckland City Limits Music Festival on 3 March 2018.

Auckland City Limits boasts an incredible star-studded lineup in its second year and the festival caters for the youngest demographic and their parents with Auckland Kiddie Limits, a “festival within a festival”.

Children 10 years old and under get in free to ACL, and while they are welcome in all corners of the festival, Kiddie Limits is a fun-filled zone where parents and kids can hang through the day to enjoy music, activities and exclusive food offerings.

The legendary Finn, erstwhile host of the 95bFM kids show, has once again curated the musical and entertainment lineup.

Performers include Christchurch duo Itty Bitty Beats, winners of the 2016 Best Children’s Song and Best Children’s Album, madcap musical comedy pantomime troupe Captain Festus McBoyle's Travelin' Variety Show, singer songwriter Chanelle & Friends, magical circus performer Le Cirque De JP, award winning kids folk musician Claudia Robin Gunn and an exciting interactive show from Chris Sam Lam's Musical Mayhem.

Activities in Auckland Kiddie Limits 2018 include roving pirate games with Captain Festus McBoyle and the crew, a Hotshots photo booth, karaoke, balloon twisting, face painting and temporary tattoos by Ink.A.Little. The Jewellers of Greater Sandringham will be running a crystal necklace workshop and seven year-old Alfie and his mum will be piloting a paper plane workshop complete with runway.

Plus The Babies and Parentspace is back. There will be a massage therapist who will provide free mini relaxation sessions for mums and dads; a breastfeeding peer support person, changing tables, and there will also be a midwife available just in case….

Auckland Kiddie Limits is situated in the village green space in MOTAT, accessed only from within the music festival’s Western Springs site.

It opens with the main gates at 11am and will run until 5pm – at which time rock’n’roll mums and dads can choose to use their pass-outs to get the kids home to the grandparents before coming back for the festival headliners, who play through to 11pm.

Auckland Kiddie Limits is not a drop-off area. Kids and caregivers are encouraged to enjoy the space together and to keep everyone safe and secure, all little ones will be registered on entry so no one gets lost.
