Festivals Trust Board Members applications open
Applications are being called for Nelson Festivals Trust Board members who want to play a part in the future direction and oversight of the Nelson Arts Festival.
The Nelson Festivals Trust is being formed as an independent Charitable Trust to take responsibility for the governance, operations and future direction of the Nelson Arts Festival.
Following the recent appointment of the Chair, Brent Thawley, applications are now open for Trustees to join the Board.
Applications are sought from people who will bring a diverse range of relevant skills and experience, to ensure that the Board is well rounded and represents the interests and needs of the wider community.
“I’m keen to push the opportunity for the board to shape the future direction of the festival, and in order to do that we’re looking for diversity and an ability and willingness to engage more broadly with our wider community,” says Brent.
While proven governance expertise is desirable, applications from less experienced applicants interested in making a difference to public/community service are welcomed.
“This voluntary role is a fabulous opportunity for anyone who wants to combine a passion for the arts and cultural events with their governance skills and experience. So if you have a strong interest in community service and strategic governance I’d encourage you to put your hat in the ring regardless of your previous experience.”
Applications close Wednesday 14 February 2017.
