QLDC Confirms Decision to Sell Commonage Land
15 November 2017
Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) has decided to sell the Commonage Development block on Queenstown Hill, located above Vancouver Drive.
Central Government provided freehold land to QLDC through the Queenstown Reserves Vesting & Empowering Act 1971 to help fund infrastructure in the region. The Commonage Development block measures 9.5009 hectares and is the final piece of that freehold land.
QLDC now wishes to release the block, subject to receiving a suitable offer, and is seeking proposals from suitably qualified and experienced real estate agencies/agents to market the property on Council’s behalf. Income derived from any eventual sale will be used to fund Council’s forward capital plan.
Previous subdivisions on Queenstown Hill have provided residential development across the Edinburgh Drive, Manchester Place, Belfast Terrace, Kent Street and Vancouver Drive areas, between 1975 and 2002.
QLDC intends for the marketing campaign to begin during November 2017 and conclude early 2018.
Real Estate agencies interested in providing a proposal for marketing services can download the marketing tender information from Council’s website, or by contactingqueenstown@aplproperty.co.nz or (03) 442 7133. Marketing tenders close 9am on Tuesday 28 November.
