Community Health Centre Gets a Makeover
The rejuvenation of the Cheviot Community Health Centre is now complete, with the centre now fully operational again after extensive renovations and upgrades. The work has included new underfloor and wall installation, a replacement water tank being installed, a new reception area and replacement flooring over a significant area of the building.
Bruce Ensor Builders Limited was the successful tender for the renovations and commenced initial work on the building in October 2016. While the work was being completed, the health centre was operating out of the Doctor’s house next door to the site.
Cheviot Ward councillor Vince Daly says the completed renovations have breathed new life into the health centre and it is a fantastic asset for the Cheviot area.
“Now the renovations are complete, the medical centre is once again a vital part of the Cheviot community and residents are already benefitting from these upgrades,” he says.
“I’d like to thank the dedicated staff of the medical centre for their continued hard work, especially as they worked in difficult conditions while the work was being completed.”
The health centre’s building is owned by the Hurunui District Council and the practice is run by the Cheviot Medical Trust. The renovations were managed by the council’s building team.
