RLWC2017: Kiwis Working at Christchurch Adventure Park

The New Zealand rugby league team will assist one of Christchurch’s newest visitor attractions re-open after last year’s devastating Port Hill fires.

The Christchurch Adventure Park plans to re-open on 5 December and has called in the Kiwis to work on a pump track – an off-road circuit of banked turns and features, designed to be ridden completely by riders "pumping" or creating momentum by up and down body movements.

The team are in town for a Rugby League World Cup 2017 (RLWC2017) game against Scotland on 4 November and will be working at the Christchurch Adventure Park this afternoon from 3pm.

Date: Today, 30 October 2017

Time:: 3pm – 4pm

Venue: Christchurch Adventure Park, 225 Worsleys Rd, Cracroft, Christchurch

Sign in : In order to access the Christchurch Adventure Park you will need to sign in at the second set of portacoms at the entrance to the park before proceeding to the village area.

RLWC2017 will see 14 teams play 28 games over five weeks, from 27 October until 2 December 2017, across New Zealand, Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Christchurch is hosting two games: Kiwis against Scotland on 4 November and a quarter final on 18 November.

Tournament organisers forecast over 6,000 international visitors will travel to New Zealand for the tournament, who are expected to contribute around $4.8 million to the economy.
