Maniapoto introduce new Iwi app
Media Statement 17th October 2017
For immediate use
Maniapoto Māori Trust Board (MMTB) have just released a new app with a main focus of increasing communication and engagement with tribal members.
“E TūManiapoto” is a user friendly, free to download app packed with features to keep our people informed on what’s happening with the iwi.
MMTB Chairman, R.Tiwha Bell believes this is a progressive step in the right direction. “Given that 90% of our people live outside of the Manipoto rohe, we’ve been introducing different ways to keep the iwi engaged and informed. The hui live streams received some great feedback with our people, so we knew the introduction of an iwi app would be another step forward.”
The aim is to provide users with easy to access updates direct to their device. E TūManiapoto is able to send notification and hui reminders to those interested as well as live streams and previously recorded videos. The app also allows users to participate in live chats, share feedback and complete iwi member surveys.
To celebrate the release, MMTB have opened a competition to iwi members for a chance to win the latest iPhone or Samsung. Simply download the app, register with the Maniapoto Tribal Register or update your details if you are already registered, and you’re in the draw. Details can be found at http://www.maniapoto.iwi.nz/app-promo/
“This is just the beginning of what we hope will become the go to point for accessing up to date information on our iwi. E TūManiapoto!” states Bell.
The app is available for download on iTunes and Android stores now.
