Mayor Greg Gent to resign from Kaipara District Council in November
The Mayor of Kaipara District Council, Greg Gent, has today announced his intention to resign after the Council meeting on Tuesday 14 November 2017.
After a year in the role, Mayor Gent has decided to resign due to personal reasons. His resignation will mean a by-election is required to fill the vacated post.
More information on the by-election timing, process and costs moving forward will be announced as soon as possible.
Deputy Mayor Peter Wethey will assume all the responsibilities of the Mayor until the by-election after Mayor Gent’s departure.
