Arrest And Property Recovery Following Hastings Search Warrants
The following can be attributed to Detective Senior Sergeant Martin James:
Hawke's Bay Police continue to put pressure on burglars this week by executing a series of search warrants in the Hastings area.
Police were delighted to recover two Cevelo racing bikes that were stolen from a Havelock North property in 2016.
The bikes, worth over $7,000, were not insured and the owner had given up all hope of seeing them again.
Also located at the same address was an engagement ring and a Tag Heuer watch stolen during a burglary at Maraekakaho on Tuesday morning.
A 46-year-old man was arrested and charged with burglary and will appear in the Hastings District Court on Monday 2 October.
Police would like to assure the public that they are committed to reducing burglaries and bringing offenders to account.
