Ladies Mile discussion to be undertaken at October Council meeting
In August the Queenstown Lakes District Council discussed the proposal to amend QLDC’s Lead Policy to incorporate the Ladies Mile Area.
Following the matters raised, the Council requested that staff address a number of issues and report back at the September Council meeting. The September meeting will be held in Wanaka, therefore Council has decided to postpone consideration of the Ladies Mile item until the next Council meeting in Queenstown, which is scheduled for the 26th October.
QLDC acknowledges that the issue is an important one for Queenstown and attracted a significant amount of interest; both in terms of submissions received and numbers present at each public forum. Given that the decisions being discussed are not time critical at this point, it is important that the matter be heard in Queenstown to ensure everyone with an interest is able to attend with relative ease.
